I took the speed reading course from Mrs. Wozny last summer, and it has helped tremendously with both my reading assignments and my essay writing. It cuts down my study time from around three to four hours a day to the hour and a half that I had with a 19 hour course load. My reading speed reaches and many times exceeds 30,000 words per minute while I retain 98% of the material read. My average speed is 50,000 words per minute, making an average 500 page book take me about half an hour at most. The study skills taught along with this course can be applied to anything from biology to English to music classes. It is extremely helpful, and has done a lot toward helping me achieve the Deans List both semesters of my college career. Because of this class, it is easier for me to take a larger course load, which is allowing me to graduate with honors in a total of 2 and a half years. I highly recommend this to any student from high school all the way through college.

To say that Ms. Jennifer Wozny at Champion Power Reading in Houston is a wonderful teacher is an understatement. She has literally opened my eyes to the world of reading. After attending her classes I was able to get rid of bad reading habits like reading to myself, going back to confirm something, and losing concentration to name a few. I have always gotten above average grades despite the fact that my reading speed was far below average. I rarely finished in-class reading assignments or reading/literature tests. Reading was just an unavoidable chore, and I did as little of it as possible.

In the junior year of my engineering degree, I found myself needing to read faster. There was too much information and not enough time to read it all, let alone understand and absorb it. Desperate for help, I started investigating different "speed reading" courses.

I looked at half a dozen different methods and no one else had the passion, energy, or belief that Jennifer exudes. In only a few lessons of Power Learning my reading rate had more than tripled - I hadn't even finished the course yet!

Before the end of the semester, my professor asked us to read a section of our text before he started lecturing about it. I beamed on the inside like a six year old reading their first book as I realized I was one of the first to finish. Later that semester, searching for a book to practice Power Learning with, I found a science fiction writer who kept my interest. Not only did I finish the semester, but between Spring Break and finals, I managed to read two novels while completing my schoolwork.

I would highly recommend Ms. Wozny's Speed Reading course to anyone who wants to enhance their comprehension of material and their efficiency in learning. Speed reading has drastically improved my PSAT scores, English grades, and efficiency in covering reading material in all subjects. My PSAT score improved 19 points. In specific, my critical reading score jumped from a 61 (sophomore year) to a perfect score of 80 (Junior year). I used to struggle with my English courses and would make either high B's or low A's with considerable effort. Since completion of the speed reading program the past summer, I find Junior Year AP English relatively easy and enjoyable. I am making high A's with less effort. Numerically, my reading rate improved by more than a factor of ten. I am therefore more efficient with my time. I finish my homework faster than I used to finish despite the heavier course load.
